Les Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) For two days the doors are thrown open to places normally not open to the public, such as embassies and ministries. Places such as the Palais de l’Elysée, where the President lives, Assemblée Nationale, Sénat... tend to attract large queues.
 
But you can also visit some unusual place like french railway or ministry of taxes
