01 july 2006

If you want a great tip, go to see the match in a stadium. There are now three giant screens in stadiums to watch the French football team :

Stade Sébastien Charléty
Stade Jean Bouin
Parc des Princes

It is really an amazing atmosphere !!!
And it is also Free Entrance.

Good Bye ZiZou...

After such a fun & pleasure, it has been really a shame to finish the world cup with this nasty image of headbutting. Good bye Zizou we still love you.

The 14th of july, a day off ?

14 july 2006

Let's start with the traditionalmilitary procession in Paris (not much fun, but still impressive).

Then prepare your evening. Each year you are estimated one million gathered around the Eiffel Tower area in the evening to watch the fireworks (be at least one hour earlier...).

Abandoned the place to go into the warm streets - to visit the local firehalls and dance the night away. we call it "Bal des pompiers".

Although the really big street parties traditionally take place on the evening of the 13th - at the Place de la Bastille for example - some of the 'bals populaires,' take place as well on the evening of the 14th.

Le Tour

22 july 2006

The legendary Tour de France actually leaves from Paris this year on the first Saturday in July and ends in Paris. Competitors cover nearly 3,300 kilometres in 20 stages before crossing the finish line on the month's fourth Sunday. Hundreds of thousands of Parisians flock to the Champs Elysées to see the national heroes complete one of the world's most gruelling events. You will have to arrive early to get any kind of decent view. Admission is free.

Tour de France comes to London

In 2007 London will host the opening stage of the Tour de France, the world's biggest annual sporting event and the biggest cycling event in the world, with a spectatorship of about 15 million people.

Paris, je t'aime

30 july 2006

Paris, je t'aime is a portmanteau picture in which filmmakers as diverse as Gurinder Chadha and Wes Craven direct short features based loosely around the theme of "Love in Paris".

A collective homage to the City of Light directed by Gus Van Sant, Alfonso Cuaron, Gerard Depardieu, and others.
