Paris mon Amour...

Ahhh, Paris, “City of lights” or "City of Love". Paris will charm lovers with its small parks, café and restaurants. Stroll along the Champs Elysees, gaze into each others eyes at the top of the Eiffel Tower then relax for a Romantic break. From Montmartre to bercy , Paris must be discovered hand in hand…

Dining "a deux" :

For the romantically minded we have tasted restaurants below. OK we generally go to those restaurants for special occasion (weeding anniversary or valentine's days) except for "Lena and Mimiles" which is a very affordable restaurants.
All restaurants described below have a really great atmosphere and ambience, where a meal out becomes a really romantic parisian break. The are obviously many other restaurants but some without this littlle romance that we espect (by exemple our last restaurant was "le george" right at the top of beaubourg center. View was very nice but music was far too loud, nice tables was for V.I.P, service was... So, it is a good restaurant but without any atmosphère and for this reason, we won't advice it to you).

Le Ciel de paris

This restaurant is on the very top floor of the Tour de Montparnasse (the Montparnasse Tower) and offers one of the most stunning views of the city possible. You look directly out onto the Eiffel Tower. Go there for an aperitif (with a piano during week-end) to enjoy the view or why not treat yourself to dinner - the cuisine's very good. So you will have a truly memorable break specially if it is for a special occasion... Price is also resonnable for that kind of restaurant.

Le Lapérouse,

One of the most romantic spots in Paris, Lapérouse was formerly a clandestine rendezvous for French politicians and their mistresses: the tiny private dining rooms upstairs used to lock from the inside, though no longer.

Hugo, Proust, Romains, Simenon, Swann have eaten there...

What to say more...

Just that the seductive Seine-side dining room has always been best savoured at night. And if you just cross the bridge after dinner you will discover one of the most charming view of Paris. Today, well known for its romantic side, " square vert galant" use to be the place for many movies.

You should not miss the vue of Paris during the lay down sun !

In order to acces, cross " Henri IV" sculpture, just in the middle of "Pont-Neuf", and go at the far western tip of the Ile de la cité.( Henri IV was called "le Vert Galant" because of its need of femal conquests...) .

It is Robert Doisneau who has shooted this picture. This picture has made people talk... one speak about time falling, other about desire or the beginning of the world... But finally all is about LOVE, A very nice picture indeed.

Le Relais Louis XIII

Manuel Martinez, the "Meilleur Ouvrier de France" who formerly manned the stoves at the Tour d'Argent, took over this restaurant with his wife in 1996. The décor dates from the Louis XIII period and only 40 meals are served per sitting. The service is first rate and exceptional ingredients provide an excellent cuisine, So A superb restaurant with excellent service and a menu that is cooked to perfection (price is nevertheless a bite expencive...)

Léna et Mimile

The best for the end... We do love this place ! Restaurant Lena et Mimile, just beside Mouffetard street and Panthéon, the place will become the home of your loving diners...

Léna et Mimile is a typical parisian bistro with a nice open floor area, very sympatic during the summer. For about 35 Euro you will get one of your best meals in paris, and all is included (wine, aperitif, entry, meal and desert). For Paris it is a very reasonnable price !

Parisian like this place and dining room is quite small, so don't forget to book !

Its picnic time...

Paris' historic and geographic heart, Ile de la Cite, Ile St-Louis and Notre Dame comprise one of the most walk-able and romantic sections of the city. The two river islands offer a peaceful ambience and provide a perfect spot for a picnic or a stroll. Park in Paris are also one of the most romantic spot in Paris. There are many parks in Paris, Parc des buttes chaumont is one which must be done . there is also, of course parc de Bercy. So enjoy the atmosphere, take a picnic bag a bottle of "Sauterne", 2 glasses and wait the fall down of the sun …

Parc des Buttes Chaumont, the most original Park .

This charming park, opened in 1867, is one of the many masterpieces of Baron Haussman, who shaped so much of modern Paris. The park is a popular city centre haven for nature lovers and walkers as well as families and sportsmen. The varied setting includes open lawns, trees, a lake and a hilltop "temple" reached by a suspension bridge and offering splendid views. Don't forget to visit the famous grotto and waterfall. A miniature version of New York's Central Park in the heart of Paris

Bercy... the most atypical.

We already have discuss about this park in pages : Paris Bercy neighbourhood so we invite you to go in this section. Once again we want to point the fact that grass is free acces, which is not true in most of park in Paris. And if you are looking for a place to picnic, go to the 8-metre high terrace planted. The terrace has been designed as a belvedere over the Seine river.

Paris, by night... "Of course !" Madame.

If you’re in the mood complete the evening at one of the cities jazz clubs – relax and enjoy some great music!

le sunset

the Sunset is one of the high spots for Parisian jazz.

Located in the heart of Paris, between the Forum des Halles and the Centre George Pompidou, the Sunset Jazz Club, is the first club to have settled rue des Lombard. Sunset and Sunside, "Jazz on all floors for all jazz...". Sunset - Sunside, two Jazz Clubs in Paris with a constant quality in programming.

The club's cosy atmosphere and warm decor provide the perfect setting for some sizzling hot jazz.

Les Kiosques Flottants

Very friendly for having a drink (there is a Piano during week-end) or a dinner during a nice sunny day. After dinner go for a walk beside the seine river.

We didn't put this restaurant on our Goodies from Bercy pages, although it is located right in front of our apartment because it has happened that some night there where no music atmosphere at all... Nevertheless this place worth the walk !
